GMAC Mortgage Names Director of National Builder Division

Horsham, Pa. - March 30, 7007 -

GMAC Mortgage has named Heather Howerton as the new director of BuilderPower, GMAC Mortgage's national builder division. Howerton will be responsible for overseeing both the BuilderPower and new construction programs, including all national sales efforts as well as managing all sales teams. BuilderPower is GMAC Mortgage's builder division, which is dedicated to helping builders offer financing to customers through innovative products and a streamlined process.

"Heather will play a critical role in helping us grow our BuilderPower program," said Bruce Cornelius, senior vice president for GMAC Mortgage. "The BuilderPower program is poised to experience major growth and Heather is the right person to help take the program to the next level."

Howerton, who has been with GMAC Mortgage since 2000, brings more than 18 years experience to her new role with the company. She most recently served as director of builder sales where she was responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing all branches of BuilderPower across the country. Prior to GMAC Mortgage, Howerton worked for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and American Capital Mortgage Company.

Howerton has served as president for the Oklahoma City Mortgage Bankers Association as well as for the Oklahoma City Association of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW). She is currently a certified continuing education instructor with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and is a past director of Infant Crisis Services in Oklahoma City.

Howerton received a bachelor of science in business/finance from Oklahoma City University and a Masters of Mortgage Lending from the Institute of Mortgage Lending.
